Podcastium is an open-source podcast client project designed for Android and iOS mobile devices. It aims to deliver a simple, attractive, and fully libre podcasting experience that strictly adheres to the guidelines outlined in the Podcasting is An Open Media manifesto. The application focuses on proving that high-quality podcast consumption can be achieved without proprietary restrictions, prioritizing user freedom and open standards. Currently, the software is under active development in a spare-time capacity and is not yet available for public use. As the project is unreleased, potential users are currently encouraged to utilize mature open-source alternatives such as AntennaPod for Android or Overcast for iOS while awaiting the official launch of Podcastium. The project serves as a community-driven initiative to support the open media ecosystem by providing a free tool for podcast discovery and playback across major mobile platforms.
