PyDSS is a Python interface for OpenDSS, an open-source distribution system simulator widely used for electrical power distribution system analysis. PyDSS provides high-level Python access to OpenDSS functionality, enabling users to script and automate power flow studies, fault analysis, and other distribution system simulations. The library supports common tasks such as loading circuit models, running simulations, extracting results, and performing scenario-based analyses. PyDSS is commonly used by researchers, utilities, and engineers for distribution planning, DER integration studies, voltage regulation analysis, and automated batch simulations.
