Tactus is the first browser AI Agent extension to implement the Agent Skills specification, enabling AI to perform complex tasks through an extensible skill system. The extension supports multiple AI providers including Anthropic, Google Gemini, and OpenAI-compatible APIs, featuring real-time streaming responses, chain-of-thought visibility, and autonomous tool selection via the ReAct paradigm. Users can configure multiple models, interrupt generation instantly, and rely on tab-locking animations during responses. Tactus includes advanced image vision capabilities for multimodal chat, allowing direct image pasting and analysis of screenshots or charts. Its page understanding engine extracts core content using Readability and Turndown to convert to Markdown, supports one-click text quoting, and intelligently skips extraction when skill scripts already provide context.
