Resin is a Pixelfed mobile client designed to provide a social media experience free from addictive design patterns. Built with React Native and Expo, it serves as a model for ethical anti-design in Fediverse applications. Key features include no infinite scrolling, obstacles to discourage excessive use, and interfaces for feeds, profiles, notifications, search, discover, comments, direct messaging, moderation, and settings. The app is no longer dependent on ad revenue attention models, so it prioritizes user wellbeing over engagement metrics. Planned features include sabbaticals, Mastodon instance support, and multi-account functionality.
