A steering wheel and meter box for Formula Student racing, built on STM32F407 with FreeRTOS. The wheel collects real vehicle run data via CAN bus and simulator data via serial, displaying both in real time on a 3.5-inch high-brightness screen for sunlight visibility. It uploads real vehicle telemetry through 4G for wireless data transmission and logs data locally for post-run analysis and review. It functions as a game controller compatible with Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, and F1 series, configured through Simhub custom serial device support. The wheel features 8 programmable buttons on the front, two paddle shifters on the back, and a 12-LED shift light module, with a detachable adapter for Logitech G27 bases. The housing uses carbon fiber CNC panels with 3D-printed resin grips and components, measuring 250mm wide by 170mm tall, designed to comply with Formula Student rules.
