NKSR
NKSR stands for Neural Kernel Surface Reconstruction, a cutting-edge computer vision method recognized as a CVPR 2023 Highlight. It is designed to reconstruct 3D implicit surfaces from large-scale, sparse, and noisy point clouds. Building upon the Neural Kernel Fields representation, this software addresses previous limitations by enabling memory-efficient scaling to massive scenes through compactly supported kernel functions and sparse linear solvers. It features robust noise handling via a gradient fitting solve and minimizes training requirements, allowing learning from diverse datasets of dense oriented points across varying scales. Capable of processing millions of points in seconds, NKSR supports out-of-core reconstruction for very large environments. The tool achieves state-of-the-art performance on benchmarks involving single objects, indoor environments, and outdoor scenes.
