Smart-Queuing-System-On-Edge is a video analytics application that demonstrates how to deploy AI-based people detection and queue management on edge devices using the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO Toolkit. The system detects people in a defined area, counts individuals waiting in queues, and provides notifications to redirect customers to shorter lines, helping reduce congestion in retail or service environments. The project uses the OpenVINO Inference Engine to run a person detection model and processes video streams in real time. A job submission script sends workloads to the Intel DevCloud for the Edge, allowing developers to benchmark performance across multiple hardware targets without owning the physical devices, including Intel CPUs, CPUs with integrated GPUs, Intel Neural Compute Stick 2, and IEI Mustang-F100-A10 FPGA accelerators.
